How much experience does ADI have?

ADI has over two decades of experience in water resource management, natural resource conservation, rural development, sustainable livelihoods, governance and institutional development. The organisation has worked across more than 20 states in India, undertaking assignments with government institutions, corporate organisations and development agencies. Its multidisciplinary team, supported by an extensive network of senior development professionals, technical experts, field practitioners and partner organisations, brings together scientific knowledge, strategic expertise and practical field experience to address diverse development challenges.

How many people has ADI worked with?

ADI has reached and positively impacted more than 150,000 people through its community action and development programmes across India. Its Sustainable Water Resource Development and Management (SWRDM) initiatives have benefited approximately 90,000 people, while creating an estimated annual groundwater recharge potential exceeding 7,000 million litres. Beyond water security, ADI's work has strengthened rural livelihoods, supported farmers and women's Self-Help Groups, promoted sustainable agriculture, and built the capacities of communities and local institutions for long-term resource management and development.

In how many states has ADI worked?

ADI has worked in more than 20 states across India through water resource management, watershed development, agriculture, livelihoods, governance, and institutional development programmes. Its water resource experience includes Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Haryana, and Punjab. ADI has also undertaken development and technical assignments in states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal. Its work covers both field implementation and technical, planning, and evaluation assignments.

What makes ADI's approach different?

ADI's strength lies in its ability to connect scientific knowledge, strategic thinking, policy understanding and practical field experience to address complex development challenges. As a multidisciplinary knowledge, technical and development partner, ADI brings together expertise in water stewardship, natural resource management, sustainable livelihoods and institutional development. Its approach goes beyond technical assessments and infrastructure development to include community participation, capacity building, and long-term resource management. By working across government, corporate and community institutions, ADI bridges the gap between research, policy and implementation, translating knowledge into practical solutions while strengthening local capacities and ownership for lasting outcomes.
